Citadel&#8217;s fundamental equity strategy returned 14.5%, while its global fixed income fund advanced 9.4%.<\/p>\n<p>Citadel declined to comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-1\">S&amp;P 500<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> locked in a 16.4% gain for the year, its third straight double-digit annual advance. That marks an impressive recovery from the\u00a0rout seen in early April\u00a0following President Donald Trump&#8217;s\u00a0sweeping tariffs announcement. At one point, the S&amp;P 500 was even on the cusp of closing in bear market territory.<\/p>\n<p>The hedge fund plans to return about $5 billion of profits earned this year to clients in an effort to limit capital growth, CNBC&#8217;s Leslie Picker previously reported.
