Goal
The Georgia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Loan Repayment Program provides loan repayment assistance to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses who agree to work full-time for a period of 1-4 years in a rural Georgia community.
The required practice time may be divided between two or more provinces, as long as none of the provinces in which the practice site is located exceeds a population limit of 50,000.
The APRN may be employed by a hospital, group practice, health center, or other health care facility. There is no requirement that the practice be a nonprofit; however, the practice must participate in the Medicaid program, agree to accept new Medicaid patients, and actively treat Medicaid patients.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen, legal resident, or alien of the United States
- Meet all requirements for unrestricted APRN licensure by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- Graduated from an accredited nursing education institution
- Work in a qualified practice that actively treats Medicaid patients
