Goal
The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Students to Service Loan Repayment Program (S2S LRP) provides student loan repayment assistance to medical, nursing, physician assistant, and dental students in their final year of training in exchange for a commitment to provide services in eligible Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) of the greatest need.
After completing the educational requirements, participants must complete a minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical practice experience at one or more NHSC-approved service locations in an HPSA where the need is greatest.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Students to Service Loan Repayment Program, applicants must:

- A citizen of the United States or a US national

- Obtaining a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) degree in a state, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory from an accredited institution

- Enrolled as a full-time student in the final year of medical or dental school with a graduation date before July 1, 2025

Amount of financing
Up to $120,000 in 4 annual installments of up to $30,000. Applicants must provide 3 years of full-time service at an NHSC approved service location. Student Loan Forgiveness
Up to $40,000 is available as a top-up payment in 4 annual installments of up to $10,000 for eligible disciplines: physicians specializing in obstetrics/gynecology, family physicians regularly practicing obstetrics, and certified nurse-midwives.
